A woman named Lilith receives gardenias daily from Lord Caesar, who believes she loves them. The woman named Luna, Caesar's wife, reveals she has been secretly suffering from pollen allergies while pretending to enjoy the flowers. After Luna confronts a maid, Caesar intervenes, accuses Luna of being vicious, and publicly humiliates her by demanding she pick up broken pieces and apologize to Lilith. Luna initially defiantly refuses, but after Caesar threatens her, she capitulates and apologizes to her father in a moment of defeat.
