Against the Odds: Cici's Second Act - Episode 5

At school, Cici struggles to prepare for the Coming-of-Age Ceremony, realizing she can't afford a proper gown. Her family is in financial trouble, and her father’s company is in deficit, so Cici resorts to wearing her brother's hand-me-down shirt. At the ceremony, Cici faces ridicule for standing out in informal clothes while others wear gowns. When a confrontation arises, she defiantly refuses to apologize after being scolded and excluded, leading to her being disowned by her family. The episode ends with Cici isolated, confronting the harsh consequences of her poverty and rejection.
