It's revealed Adam is Jason Childe's brother, Jason being Zoey and Sarah's benefactor. Zoey and Sarah press Xavier to accept the legal outcome. Zoey tells him, "Sign the settlement," leaving Xavier furious and the decision unresolved.

Xavier is pressured to drop his appeal and tell police Lydia’s death—19 stab wounds—was an accident.
