Amateur driver Caleb Knox's participation in an official race is met with hostility from established competitors. During the race, he discovers oil deliberately spilled on turn five, a trap not in the route report. Forced to take the inside lane to gain distance, Caleb and his passenger narrowly survive. After finishing, a locked system prevents his victory, as a voice reminds him he should have accepted the system's decision five years ago. Caleb realizes his rival has always known he was in the car and now intends to finish what they started.
