After being praised for killing the Lord of Evil, he says he's guilty about Paula and renounces leadership, telling them there is no Lord Ford anymore, only an unqualified mother. Later, intel finds Paula living with her husband. He drives her out, boasts he's now CEO, insults her, announces a new wife and threatens to beat her despite her protest that she gave him money and the company. As he moves in, someone shouts, "She's not an orphan!" The episode ends on that confrontation.

Inside the asylum someone recognizes and accuses her of killing her husband and threatens Paula. Faced with recognition and a direct threat, the mother vows she’ll do anything, including killing, to protect Paula, forcing an impossible choice.
