A woman named Lyra is attacked by hired men until a man known as Killian Cross, a feared mafia figure, intervenes. Her attackers recognize him and flee in terror. Realizing the powerful man who controlled her the previous night has come to protect her, Lyra watches as Killian forces her attackers to pick up scattered papers and apologize to her. After they beg for forgiveness and are driven away, Killian declares Lyra safe and establishes a new rule for her: she must immediately tell him whenever she is in danger or feels wronged.
