Yale Mond collapses after his mother dies of cancer. Soon his girlfriend Lillian Jones is diagnosed with leukemia. To spare him more pain, Lillian conceals her illness and ends their relationship. Crushed, Yale goes abroad to study medicine. Five years later he returns as a hospital director bringing a breakthrough cancer drug. Unknown to him, Lillian’s leukemia has worsened after she secretly gave birth to their daughter Annie, and, unable to afford care, she lives under a bridge. Through Annie, Yale finally finds them. The reunion clears years of misunderstanding. Yale uses his miracle drug to save Lillian, and the three of them, Yale, Lillian and Annie, are finally reunited.
