At Starrise Orphanage, Anton's mother Sharon Preston visits Karlie, the queen, to confront their sudden marriage and Anton's ending "sensitive phase." Sharon says Anton struggles to express himself and asks if Karlie likes him; Karlie replies she stayed. Sharon urges Karlie to give Anton a chance. Later Anton, vulnerable, asks to stay the night: "I'm afraid if I fall asleep I'll go back to my old self," and begs to hold Karlie. Karlie hesitates; someone is cold and comforted, but the episode closes when a waking voice snaps, "Let go," leaving Karlie's decision unresolved.
