001
Five years after their divorce, Cecilia wakes up after accidentally sleeping with her ex-husband, Lambert. At a hospital gathering, colleagues tease the reserved 'ice queen' about her love life. Cecilia reveals she was once married, flashing back to Lambert imposing strict marital rules. She explains she broke them when 'someone more important' arrived, leading to her asking for the divorce. Now, their unexpected reunion threatens the clean break they agreed to.
002
Ex-husband Lambert confronts Cecilia after a regrettable night together, reminding her of their 'no contact' agreement after divorce. Cecilia receives a call from her young daughter, revealing her motherhood and shocking Lambert. She insists the child is not his and reveals he remarried soon after their divorce, calling last night an 'accident.' Later, Lambert sees his current wife wearing the anniversary gift he gave Cecilia and demands to know why she kept it, escalating the conflict over their unresolved past.
003
Mr. Johns confronts a woman about why she kept a gift he considers his, revealing he wired her money for their anniversary, which she used to buy the necklace herself, highlighting their transactional relationship. The tense exchange is punctuated by a later scene where they share a charged kiss, referencing their five-year separation and her drunken call to him. At a social gathering, she arrives late as a busy surgeon, while another scene shows her declaring a desire for wealth. The episode ends with her resigned acceptance that after five years, it would be normal for him to have moved on with someone else.
004
Five years after their separation, a man learns that his former partner, Dr. Bailey, has returned to town. He is immediately confronted with her provocative declaration that she'll let him sleep with her once more to 'settle their debt,' a bold move that flips their dynamic and labels him as 'the other man.' This forces the man to confront the unresolved terms of their past relationship as a new chapter begins.
005
A patient's grandson, actor Simon Louis, recognizes Dr. Bailey as the doctor who saved his grandmother. He expresses his gratitude and admiration. Meanwhile, Bailey's ex-husband, Lambert, observes her friendly interaction with Simon and makes a dismissive comment. Lambert is pressured by his mother to attend a business dinner with heiress Madison Sterne, which he reluctantly agrees to treat as a transactional event. The episode ends with Lambert spotting Bailey and Simon together, leading him to a bitter realization about their past.
006
Cecilia is interrupted during a dinner date by Simon, who reveals he is her ex-husband. Confronted in private, Simon accuses her of seeing other men, but Cecilia clarifies she was dining with a patient's family. She angrily reminds him that his own date is none of her business and declares them strangers after their divorce. The encounter ends with Cecilia storming off, their past relationship unresolved and both left to navigate the new boundaries of their separation.
007
A man confronts Cecilia, reminding her she owes him 'one night', but she refuses, saying her daughter Molly needs her. Later, a friend suggests she tell the wealthy Lambert he is Molly's father for financial support, but Cecilia threatens to cut off all aid if she does. In a separate scene, Lambert proposes to Cecilia. Despite her clear hesitation, she accepts, confessing her deep love for him and desperate desire for a family.
008
A man pushes a reluctant Mr. Johns to announce his engagement to a woman named Madison at a celebratory toast. Johns resists, insisting his focus is solely on work. The scene is interrupted when someone rushes in with news that Dr. Cecilia Bailey has collapsed at the hospital from exhaustion, leaving her young daughter unattended. Upon hearing Cecilia's name, Johns immediately and urgently leaves the gathering, prompting a pointed remark from the man about his sudden concern.
009
Molly, a young girl, meets a man known to her mother and playfully asks if he is a bad guy. He jokingly agrees, but she bravely challenges his playful threat. After buying her a treat, the man appears melancholic. Sensing this, Molly offers him her ice cream, claiming it chases away sadness. Touched by her gesture and her mother's strict rules, the man impulsively decides to let Molly indulge freely, defying her mother's restrictions just this once. The episode ends with them sharing a moment of illicit joy, setting up a potential conflict with Molly's mother over this broken rule.
