A nineteen-year-old blind woman named Nancy Yates gives birth to twins alone, as hospital staff gossip about her donating her corneas to a boyfriend who then left her. The episode flashes back to two years earlier, where Nancy rescues a handsome, injured man named Yale from attackers, defiantly pointing a gun at them. After the attackers flee, she learns Yale has no family and offers him a place to stay, promising to be his eyes. Their fates are now intertwined from this chance encounter.
