An anomaly ambush scatters a small group: Lyle York, his ex Yvette Hale, and classmates Kristie and Marcus. As the creature closes in, Kristie and Marcus panic and scold Yvette for running back to help Lyle, accusing her of lingering feelings. Marcus pushes Lyle to distract the anomaly, but Yvette insists she won't leave him. Lyle says he can’t keep running and, in a sudden turn, shouts, "Activate, Berserk Mode!" The anomaly reappears and the group freezes—confrontation is imminent and the outcome remains uncertain.
