Colleagues explain the company is flooded with applicants since becoming top-ranked, and the rejected woman frets, 'Quincy probably doesn't even remember me.' Management then schedules an appreciation banquet for all staff the next day. Seeing the event as the only chance to reconnect, someone resolves to approach her there and return a lost item: 'I'll take this chance to return the pen to her.'
