Morgan Chapman tries to escape after a failed robbery at the Netherworld Bank where ghost guardians quickly catch him. Cornered by ghosts who also crave the nethernotes currency, Morgan reflects on his desperate life during the apocalypse. Suddenly, an announcement warns of a new ghost scene near Rivertine City that brings deadly consequences for rule-breakers. Morgan then realizes he has traveled back in time to when the apocalypse began, still possessing the Storage Ring filled with nethernotes. Seizing this chance, he plans to change his fate as a new ghost task at Midnight Restaurant is about to start.
