A man, addressed as Timothy by his father, rejects his father's plea by kneeling in return and leaves. The father then offers a bounty for his capture, prompting a chaotic chase through the streets. Timothy evades the pursuers and seeks refuge with a young woman, who agrees to hide him. After a flirtatious exchange where she asks if he is betrothed, Timothy suspects a trap to force him into marriage and abruptly excuses himself to escape.
