On his first day at Business College, Fred's father tells him to study and return to the family business. In class the teacher introduces transfer student Fred Lynch, but Zane presents him as a hired "lapdog" and classmates jeer. Fred shocks everyone by announcing he is Joseph Lynch's eldest son and the sole legal heir to Lynch Group. The revelation flips the insults onto Zane, who is accused of being the chauffeur's son whose parents swapped him. A teacher orders Fred to stop; when asked "You did this?" he replies, "Yes, so what?" leaving the classroom tense and Zane's position uncertain.
