A woman about to marry Leander Parish confronts him after seeing him buckle a seatbelt too naturally and accuses him of faking blindness. We learn Leander, heir of Parish Group, lost his sight and his parents in a single car crash that derailed his AI career. Anger spikes when someone vows the crash's perpetrator must pay, and an assistant tells a superior they've left the Monroe family. Staff then reveal Mr. Parish's phone converts text to speech with AI, which could explain his gestures. Distrust stays, and the threat of revenge hangs over them.
