Ivy's diner is being sealed by creditors demanding three months of back rent. Desperate, she pleads for more time, revealing her child needs surgery and the diner is all they have. A stranger named Roman intervenes and stops the eviction. Later, Ivy learns she can only inherit the diner if she marries within thirty days. Roman proposes a marriage of convenience: she gets the diner and funds for her daughter's surgery, while he gets a wife to deter unnamed pursuers. Despite her shock, Roman has his associate halt the foreclosure and investigate Ivy, setting up a high-stakes arrangement.
