A woman spills water and panics, fearing her secret identity as a mermaid will be discovered by a man from her past. To protect him and force him to give up on her, she lies and cruelly rejects him, claiming she is tired of him and that he cannot give her what she wants. The man reveals he believes she is a drug addict who abandoned him. As she desperately needs to get to water, she decides letting him hate her is better than exposing her truth. However, the man later finds a mermaid scale she left behind, questioning if she is even human.
