Selene is dragged off by men as she screams at Sam for divorcing her to marry her best friend and for selling her to an ugly man whose previous wives died and who is now comatose. Karen silences her, saying, "I'll take good care of your husband and son," and forces Selene into confinement. Elsewhere, a wealthy father prepares to disguise himself as a poor, comatose patient to test for true love and orders his security to stand down. Just as he hides in bed, someone shouts, "I think they're here!" — guests arrive while Selene remains trapped.
