Nightfall, Heartfall - Episode 7

At Old Mr. Shepard's birthday party, guests toast with five‑figure cigars and welcome Chief Superintendent Hugh Cline, thanked for Kyrie's promotion. Conversation turns dark: hosts admit they need Cline to whitewash the family after "my brother hooked up with his daughter" and fear an engagement will ruin someone. A woman is pressed into a scheme to act as bait and disrupt that match; Cline offers help and an ally coaches her: "You can't make the first move... act as bait." The plan explodes when someone seizes her — a voice yells, "Let her go!" leaving her fate unresolved.
