Princess Lyra is accused after a blood-stained battle flag is brought into the study, its red-soiled footprints staged to frame her. His Highness Evander inspects the flag, notes Lyra's estate has dark soil, compares shoe sizes and confronts a servant, exposing Lily's fake evidence. Lily is dragged away and sentenced to twenty lashes.
