Thorn then dies, but the narrator’s desire for vengeance remains strong. Seeking help from a senior named Jennis, who underwent gender reassignment surgery and whose father is a renowned surgeon, the narrator fabricates a false psychiatric evaluation to proceed with their own gender transition. Determined to exact revenge if Thorn’s identity can’t be used, the narrator plans to become a woman to fulfill their vendetta, leaving the outcome uncertain.
