Strangers Bound by the Same Tears - Episodio 2

In this episode, Kyson, a struggling scholar, promises Selene he will marry her properly once he recovers, but Selene rejects him, choosing to enter the county magistrate's household as his concubine instead. Meanwhile, Kyson's health worsens, and a doctor attempts to save him, but Kyson expresses despair over the kingdom Ocrua's reliance on heirs and wishes it to fall if children cannot be born. At the royal court, the urgency to produce an heir escalates, prompting a plan for a Legacy Banquet to seek blessings. The episode ends with Sophie apologizing, feeling she is a burden, leaving the fate of Kyson and Ocrua uncertain.
