After saying yes in front of everyone then trying to back out, a woman is confronted by a man who accuses her of breaking her word. He offers a deal: marry him, get a billion, and act as Annie's mother for a year—Annie is ashamed at school of having no mother. The woman resists, demands distance and rejects divorced men, but relents when told payment follows after they obtain the marriage license. "For Annie's sake, I'll marry you." They pose for photos, she accepts the marriage as okay for her medical career, but the money and legal license remain unsettled.
