The boy is insulted by a fellow disciple, Caleb, who mocks his background. Enraged, the boy attacks Caleb, nearly killing him. When their Master arrives, Caleb accuses the boy of attempted murder. The boy claims self-defense, arguing that Caleb attacked first with a hidden weapon. However, the Master is more concerned by the boy's uncontrollable power and lack of mercy, declaring that he has failed to understand his teachings. The Master banishes the boy from the sect. Now alone and branded a curse, the boy resolves to survive and prove everyone wrong.
