Bryan Brooklyn, a powerful man Sophia once saved, has her located and learns she has a boyfriend, lawyer Ethan Walker. He orders his men to set a trap and remove this rival. Meanwhile, Sophia, an ER doctor, fails to resuscitate a patient and is blamed by the grieving family. At the episode's end, she recognizes Bryan as the man whose life she saved, unaware he has just orchestrated her boyfriend's demise, setting her on a collision course with him.
