A young boy collects empty bottles late at night to buy canned fruit for his sick sister, facing harsh rejection and insults from passersby. When a man stops and offers him much more money than the bottles are worth, the boy hesitates before accepting the help. The boy then buys the canned fruit and gives it to his ailing sister, who reluctantly eats it. As she recovers, the boy reveals to the woman, Theia, that he will be leaving the village the next day because someone plans to adopt him, leaving their uncertain future hanging in the balance.
