A father orders his son Kason to prepare for an unwanted wedding and to personally greet a man named Devin, whom Kason scorns as a 'filthy butcher.' Kason reluctantly agrees. Meanwhile, Lyla, the bride-to-be, is visibly distressed but hides her pain from her concerned guardian, fearing for her father's safety. She is allowed to go home for a final visit. However, Kason takes her and threatens that her father's butcher shop will be finished if she speaks out, promising a 'big surprise' after the wedding. Lyla is left trapped in a dangerous arrangement on the eve of her marriage.
