After killing a low-level monster called Doomsday Bus, Frank wakes exhausted—his new skill drained most of his energy and granted only two growth points, which he reallocates to power. While recovering he detects an unprecedented dual domain and notices the surroundings have changed. Irene rushes over, worried he was hurt; Frank vows to protect her, admitting that in his old timeline he ignored the true love at his side and will change that now. Their moment is interrupted when Mason Charles of the Special Abilities Investigation Bureau appears and says, "I need your help," leaving Frank to decide immediately.
