Sandra arrives calling, "Caelan, I'm coming!" but a dog appears and Mr. Fraser panics, shouting for everyone to stay back. Sandra advances, playfully saying "Gimme a kiss," while he recoils; onlookers note his fear of dogs and doubt she can change him even given years. Alone, Sandra debates confessing a hidden truth but remembers being blackmailed and fears exposure would get him sent to a lab. She vows not to reveal the secret and, muttering "There's got to be a way," is left facing an unresolved, risky choice.
