A mute girl is confronted by men at her home, including the town sheriff, who claims she is the legal property of a brothel. The men threaten the girl and verbally abuse her. When they physically threaten her, a child intervenes and is attacked. The girl’s gun safety is discovered to be on, disarming her. With her defense neutralized, the men order her to be taken away.
