Men pressure a woman to go with them, threatening to take her to a brothel. A man intervenes, teaching the terrified woman how to use a gun. When a sheriff arrives and disparages her, the man is forced to consider handing her over to avoid authorities taking his daughter. The situation shifts when the young girl speaks for the first time, calling the woman 'Mama.' Defiantly, the man declares to the sheriff that she is not a prostitute, but his wife.
