After an emergency rush to the hospital, a servant reveals the injured child is Rosie Schultz. He says her father, Dexter, colluded with his mistress Roxie to seize the family property and arranged the murder of Rosie’s mother, Shelia. The matriarch adopts the girl, renames her Rosie Turner, and vows to raise her in seclusion until she regains her memory and can avenge her mother. Ben Gibson, CEO of the Gibson Group, then calls and demands she be married to his fourth grandson, Sean. Sean flatly refuses to meet or marry Rosie, leaving the betrothal and Rosie's future unresolved.
