Bodyguard at Your Service

Tansy West flees a political engagement to Edric Byrd, disguising herself as a man and accidentally becoming his bodyguard. Close quarters breed unexpected warmth, while Edric—biased against his fiancée—mistakenly believes he’s in love with his male protector, creating comic and tense misunderstandings. Tansy quietly becomes Edric’s ally, exposing a malicious stepmother and a scheming younger brother. At a family gathering her true gender is nearly revealed; both families even drug and send the pair to the wedding venue to force the match. The younger brother’s sudden desire to marry Tansy raises the stakes. A second escape forces Tansy and Edric to unmask.
