The Kingdom of Winter is suffering constant demon attacks, prompting a tense encounter between Lord Wesley and the Queen of Winter. Wesley offers to end the conflict by abdicating and marrying the Queen, but his demand that she kowtow to him enrages her and is flatly refused. After dismissing the throne, Wesley departs, claiming no interest in ruling. Meanwhile, Joan and her father decide the city is lost to demons. When they spot Wesley near the demon-infested area, accusations arise that he has allied with the demons. Wesley denies involvement, but as swords are drawn to stop him, the city braces for a violent confrontation and uncertain fate.
