Rumors start when someone spots Lea clutching a gold coin and nobles jeer that a beggar couldn’t have gold. An onlooker shouts, “No matter what, she’s my sister!” to defend her. A newsboy delivers a paper to Commander Neal and reports the lady general was seen at Eaton Manor; Neal prepares to leave immediately. At Eaton Manor, Lea shows up for the banquet but is pushed away and mocked by servants as a beggar. The episode ends with an offscreen voice calling, “Lea?”—Lea’s humiliation and Neal’s urgent arrival promise an imminent confrontation.
