Natalie returns to the Smith household and is presented to her parents. Someone at the scene insists that adopted Mila, however capable, "doesn't carry the Smith blood" and accuses her of bullying Natalie; it is said Mila was disciplined "to protect the Smith family's dignity." Mila is ordered to apologize, but the mother delays it. The family is told to accept tea from Natalie as a formal welcome. At the tea, Dad says, "I object," while Mom replies, "I approve," splitting the household. The episode ends with the ceremony stalled and the family's decision about Mila left unresolved.
