After being forced out of the Beltran family, Luis wakes up at his uncle’s house, where he is welcomed warmly and given a room and new clothes. Luis reveals he plans to retake the college entrance exam in a week despite missing a year of school. His uncle offers to arrange tutors to help him prepare. Later, Luis reunites with his childhood friends Wendy and Jason, who urge him to fight back against the Beltrans, but Luis insists he’s moving on and will live independently.
