At a formal banquet, Amy presents Alex with church annulment papers, ending their marriage, while her new suitor, Count Blake, openly mocks Alex. Alex defiantly claims he once saved Queen Helena from werewolves and she offered him her empire, provoking laughter and scorn from the crowd. As they ridicule him and demand he leave before the Queen arrives, Alex stands his ground against the humiliating insults, setting up a tense confrontation with the impending royal visit.
