At a crime scene, a commander and inquisitor find the dismembered remains of high-ranking angels. One, a young six-winged angel named Aurelia, had her wings brutally torn off and her divine core ripped out alive. The inquisitor's daughter, Seraphina, is revealed as the killer. Seraphina insists she gifted Aurelia a protective soul-warming array, not a curse, and pleads her innocence. Her mother, the chief inquisitor, denounces her as a demonic seed and orders her confinement, refusing to recognize her. Seraphina is imprisoned while the true nature of the rune remains unresolved.
