Kieran is ordered to "look closer" while the commander asserts control, shouting "this is my territory" and singling out "you, your dragon, and these irritating fools," vowing they will die where they stand. The situation escalates from accusation to an open death threat when he declares, "This spot marks your grave." Surrounded and targeted, Connor, Kieran and the others must confront the incoming assault with no clear escape.
