At a sudden family gathering, the grandmother transfers massive assets to a visiting woman and her child: old villas in Eswor, the entire Earl Avenue and half the shares of Walker Group, ordering the lawyer to sign immediately. The Walkers — including Samuel, Mom and Dad — react with disbelief and caution, saying they know nothing about the newcomers. Samuel is pressed over the impending marriage — "we can talk about it if you don't want to marry me" — while relatives brand the woman an opportunist.
