At a banquet Mr. Wells is called to confront Cayden, who openly provokes noble families. Wells demands Cayden kneel, threatens to break his hand, and warns that the Wells family's power can decide his fate if he won't apologize. Cayden refuses to bow and vows to show who runs Riverton, claiming his family will rise after the Celestial Sovereign meets his father tonight. Attendants move to seize him, but a protector shouts, "If you dare lay a hand on my master, I'll slaughter the entire Wells family!" The episode ends with that threat hanging over an imminent clash.
