Shawn appears at the ward after a recent operation, bringing nourishing soup and insisting he didn't come for Lily. Serena and others claim the soup was meant for Lily and accuse Shawn of putting on affectionate behavior to make her jealous. Lily refuses the soup; a cup is thrown and she is blamed for being vicious, which she denies. After hearing talk of “empty, imaginary live comments” and Shawn’s contradictory conduct, Lily reaches a breaking point. She goes to Mr. Zeller and declares, "I want a divorce from Shawn Warner."
