The King Who Played Househusband

The King Who Played Househusband

Synopsis

Edgar Fitz, the King of Gambling, honors his dying master Rodney Dixon’s final request: marry Rodney’s only daughter Esme and shield the Dixon family for three years. He hides his identity and devotes himself to protecting and caring for Esme, but his quiet dedication is met with scorn and mockery from Esme and her mother. Edgar endures in silence until the agreement has only three days left. Then Esme is lured by a friend into a gambling scheme that threatens the family’s fortune. Edgar reveals his mastery at the last moment, outplaying their opponent and saving the Dixons. Afterward he quietly departs. When Esme discovers he has gone, panic drives her to search everywhere for him.

My heart broke when Edgar quietly left. Three years of silent care, no gratitude. Esme's frantic search ruined my composure.

He played househusband like a secret king, hilarious. Mocking ladies, please apologize to our gambler. I laughed, then cried in the finale.

The depiction of gambling techniques was sharp and precise. Edgar's skill felt believable and intimidating. That duel sequence elevated the whole drama.
