The Rich Boy's Deadly Lie

The Rich Boy's Deadly Lie

Synopsis

Thomas Powers loses a cruel bet and begins courting Winnie Nelson, a hardworking woman, under the lie that he is a poor young man dying of cancer. Winnie believes him. Pregnant and trusting, she endures brutal work and even donates bone marrow to fund what he calls surgery. When the deception is exposed, she is shattered and has a car accident; Thomas is told she died and is consumed by guilt. In truth, Winnie survives and quietly gives birth to their daughter, Bailey Nelson, raising her alone. Five years later Thomas discovers Bailey’s existence. The revelation forces him to confront the damage he caused and sets him on a desperate path to atone, if forgiveness is possible after such betrayal.

I cried when Winnie donated bone marrow for his fake surgery. Thomas's guilt after her accident gutted me.
