Members of the Blackhand Sect arrive, harass them and threaten to kill the bystander when he intervenes. The woman's condition escalates—she is having a severe reaction to the drug—so the reluctant man finally agrees to help. As he steps in, she unexpectedly confesses love and asks to marry him, leaving his response and her safety unresolved.
