A family argument reveals patriarch Jack will hold a meeting to choose an heir and that he favors a stray kicked out of the family. Furious relatives conspire to block him. One vows they need no outside help—Hatchet Gang and family muscle will install Sean. They make brutal threats, promising mutilation and death if anyone resists, and hatch a vicious plan to force the stray to kneel. By episode's end they swear the stray will be killed at the meeting and their opponents 'drowned in blood,' leaving the heir decision and the stray's fate unresolved.
