At a luxury store Mrs. Moser berates staff until a country girl, Cassie, surprises everyone by responding fluently and forcing apologies. Back home Cassie’s mother confronts her for spending 50 million of her husband Kit’s money on luxury goods. Mom rages that Cassie couldn't earn that sum; Cassie defends the purchases as necessary to avoid embarrassing the family and says she bought Kit a suit for his father’s birthday. Mom softens briefly, but another family member objects that the items were paid with Kit’s money, the verdict and fallout remain unresolved.
