A princess, Zora, is forced by her brother the Emperor and the court to marry the Imperial Regent, a eunuch, to 'calm the court' and remove her from politics. When her loyal companion Cleo protests, the Emperor threatens to execute Zora if she refuses. Enraged, Zora confronts the court, accusing them of betrayal, but ultimately backs down to save Cleo's life. She agrees to the marriage, but privately vows revenge, telling Cleo that everyone will regret their decision.
